Darby Racing had a lot of fun with baldy face juvenile flyer Scarlet Rain and their colours were carried to victory at the Hawkesbury trials on Monday morning by her first born son.
Bay in colour, but marked in a similar fashion to his flashy mother, Snitzel gelding Scarzel showed good natural pace to hold the fence for Tom Sherry.

The Mark Newnham trained Scarzel skipped clear to win by nearly two lengths running the 800m on 46.75 which was the fastest of the five juvenile heats contested.
It was the second trial for Scarzel, who led and raced greenly before fading to finish fifth back in September at Randwick, but fitted with blinkers he was more focused and was strong to the line.
A $220,000 Magic Millions purchase for Darby Racing/De Burgh Equine from the Newgate Farm draft, Scarzel was bred by Belinda Bateman and is the first foal from Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes winner Scarlet Rain.
