In It To Win It!

Tara Madgwick - Friday September 8
The Spring Carnival is in full swing so we have stakes racing every weekend and for breeders and stallion owners it's all about which sires are doing well and getting the stakes winners when it counts - to get them you need runners, so let's take a look at a new innovation on Breednet showing weekend stakes runners for each sire.

At a glance what sire do we think will have the most stakes opportunity? If you guess Snitzel, you'd be right!

Nine runners headed by a bracket of star colts in Menari, Invader, Trapeze Artist, Chauffeur and company, not to mention his Group I winning sprinter Russian Revolution, the only Group I winning three year-old sprinter of last season not to be packed off to stud.

Fastnet Rock is next with six runners including his promising three year-olds Roomooz, Siege of Quebec and Shoals as well as in-form sprinter Deploy.

Sebring is equal on six with the return of his dual Oaks winner from last season Egg Tart the centre of interest as well as the progress of promising three year-old colt Gold Standard.

Lonhro looks primed for some action with five contenders including his former star filly Ghisoni, who returns after a year on the sidelines. The fact that she's back racing and not off to stud speaks volumes for the sort of ability this mare must show at home.
