Everest favourite Nature Strip was the star performer at the Rosehill trials on Tuesday morning, but we also saw some exciting three year-olds in action including unbeaten colts Peltzer and Doubtland.
Chris Waller’s champion sprinter made light work of the 900m hit out on his home track, leading throughout to record a 5-1/2 length victory over the progressive Deep Field mare mare Fituese with three-quarters of a length back to talented Vancouver filly Vangelic in third.

A second-up run in the Group II Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on October 3 will provide the final lead up for The Everest a fortnight later at the same venue.
Gerald Ryan has a big opinion of So You Think colt Peltzer, who had three starts in April and May for three impressive wins.
He led all the way for Kerrin McEvoy to win his 900m heat buy the best part of a length with unbeaten autumn stakes-winner Doubtland (Not a Single Doubt) closing strongly under some encouragement from Jay Ford.
Both colts are nominated for the Group I ATC Golden Rose.
One of the standout two year-olds offered at the Inglis Ready 2Race Sale last year, Choisir colt Malkovich continues to impress at the trials and showed up again this morning winning his 900m heat by six lengths and running similar time to Nature Strip.
The Bjorn Baker trained Malkovich was bought by Darby Bloodstock for $240,000 at the Inglis Ready 2Race Sale last year from the draft of Woodpark Stud, who had pinhooked him from Inglis Classic for $85,000.
Connections were hoping for a quick return when they sent him out first up in the $1million ATC Golden Gift, but after showing good pace he faded to finish sixth of 14 behind Dame Giselle and has been off the scene since then.
He’s now had two trials under his belt and is ready for raceday.
Also nominated for the Golden Rose, Malkovich is a half-brother to four winners including Group III placed Seewhatshebrings from the family of Group I winners Rewaaya and Sense of Occasion.
