From Luke Warm to Red Hot- Who Will it Be in 2020?

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 17

There can be a lot of change between what happens at the end of one season and the unfolding of the next, but for this young stallion it’s business as usual.

A dual Group I winning son of Street Cry (IRE), Pride of Dubai finished as the champion First Season Sire last season and has already taken pole position this year following last Saturday when his talented daughter Bella Nipotina captured the Group III MRC Quezette Stakes.

Most of the leading players from last season are on the board with new season winners and Kermadec in particular stands out as having a serious spring classic prospect in promising filly Montefilia.

Nostradamus is another with a potential stakes-winner in the pipeline with Perth trained filly Clairvoyance appearing well above average.

The progress of all of these young sires during the spring is a big watchpoint for their respective studs as the emergence of a good horse equates to mare bookings.

Everyone has seen the stallion that started spring luke warm and ended it red hot with a flurry of racetrack success generating popularity in the breeding barn.

Who will it be in 2020?
