A homebred for South African breeder Sabine Plattner that was foaled in Australia, Anmer Hall broke the ice when scoring at Greyville in South Africa on Wednesday.
Trained by Andre Nel, four year-old Carlton House (USA) mare Anmer Hall was a dominant two and a half length winner over 1600m at her fourth start.

Anmer Hall is the third winner from three foals to race out of Port Elizabeth (IRE), a three-quarter sister by Danehill Dancer to Group III winner Steel Princess, the dam of Group I winner Sarah Lynx.
Port Elizabeth was on-sold at the Inglis Broodmare Sale last year for $27,000 and produced a oclt by Churchill (IRE) for her new owner last spring and is now in foal to Harry Angel (IRE).
