Impressive Return for White Hunter

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 25
Newly gelded Fastnet Rock three year-old White Hunter was in a class of his own when resuming from a spell to win as he pleased at Sandown on Wednesday.

White Hunter as a yearlingPrepared by Mark Kavanagh, White Hunter showed ability in a four start campaign during the spring in which he placed twice, but gelding may well be the making of him.

Sent to the front in the 1200 metre maiden by Craig Williams, he controlled the race and forged clear to win by two lengths.

"He's a beautiful looking horse that's got a really good motor and he's still learning his craft," Williams said.

"He's got a lot of upside to him and he dominated the race at his first start as a gelding."

A $600,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Coolmore draft for John Warren for China Horse Club, White Hunter runs in the Coolmore blue for a syndicate that includes Coolmore and various partners including the China Horse Club.

White Hunter is the second winner for Earthen Cool, a half-sister by Kentucky Derby winner Real Quiet (USA) to stakes-winner Danehill Smile.

Coolmore will offer a full sister to White Hunter at Inglis Easter next month asLot 377 and she is pictured below.
