After a false start, the five-time Melbourne Cup-winning trainer ended his partnership to start training in Singapore and was scheduled to start work on September 1.

However, Singapore's Ministry of Manpower granted Freedman an employment pass on Monday, meaning he will be able to have runners in his own name at Friday's Kranji meeting.

Freedman has taken over stables vacated by Laurie Laxon, the trainer of the 1988 Melbourne Cup winner Empire Rose.

Meanwhile, leading Queensland rider Damian Browne will be in action at Sunday's Kranji meeting in Singapore.

Trainer Cliff Brown has called on Browne to ride Elite Excalibur in the Group III Jumbo Jet Trophy (1400m).

Browne has had two previous rides in Singapore, missing a place on Flight Ofthe Saker in the 2014 Singapore Derby while he finished second on the Brown-trained Laughing Gravy in the Group I Queen Elizabeth Cup in June.
