Brilliant Aussie Juvenile Winner South Africa

Tara Madgwick - Thursday February 19
Opening her account with a dazzling four length win at Scottsville in South Africa on Wednesday was two year-old Bernardini (USA) filly Almashooqa, a $330,000 Inglis Easter Shadwell purchase from the draft of Torryburn Stud.

Almashooqa as a yearlingTrained by Mike de Kock and ridden by Anthony Delpech, Almashooqa strode clear to win the 1200 metre maiden by four lengths in a dominant display.

A half-sister to stakes-winner Landing, Almashooqa was bred by Torryburn Stud and is the third winner for Group III winning Flying Spur mare Joy of Flight.

A stunning individual, she was the most expensive yearling by Darley shuttler Bernardini sold in Australia in 2014.

Joy of Flight has a yearling colt by More Than Ready (USA), a filly foal by Street Cry (IRE) and was covered by So You Think last spring.

Torryburn Stud will present a quality draft of eight for the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. Click here to see the draft.
