A three-quarter brother to dual Group I winner and $2.7million earner Viddora, two year-old colt Shadow Chaser is the most expensive yearling from the first crop of I Am Invincible’s brilliant son Super One and he opened his account at Kembla on Saturday.
Trained by Richard and Michael Freedman, Shadow Chaser carried the China Horse Club colours to victory in the 1200m maiden, making light of the heavy 10 track to score a long head win.
Shadow Chaser was a $300,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman draft for China Horse Club and Michael Freedman, who trained his sire Super One.
Bred by Yarraman in partnership, he is the fourth winner from Viddora’s dam Snow Flight, who has a weanling filly by I Am Invincible that is a full sister to Viddora and she is now in foal to I Am Invincible’s Group I wining son Hellbent.
Shadow Chaser is the sixth winner for Super One, who stands a Newgate Farm this spring at a fee of $11,000.
