Racenet's blackbook runners for Saturday

Breednet - Friday September 1

Each week Racenet's video review analysts highlight a runner from each state to follow and here are the horses recently blackbooked that are racing around Australia on Saturday.

We will follow the horses in their two subsequent starts to being blackbooked.

RANDWICK

LIFE LESS ORDINARY (Race 7 No.9)
The horse was blackbooked at the Randwick meeting on August 19 and our analyst said : Loved his return second in the Broccolini Handicap (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday. Life Less Ordinary ran the fastest last 600m of the race and was one of only three horses all day to run three sub 11 seconds for each of the 200m splits for the last 600m with the other two Foxplay and Winx. Life Less Ordinary hasn't finished worse than second in his four Australian starts winning at Caulfield first-up over 1800m last April and finish second in his remaining three Australian starts. A winner up to 3218m at Ascot before heading down under a race like the Metropolitan wouldn't seem out of his reach. With a benchmark rating of 92 there are a number of options enroute to the Metropolitan and it will be interesting to see where connections go but expecting Life Less Ordinary to be more than competitive wherever he turns up.

CAULFIELD

DUSTY JACK (Race 3 No. 7)
The horse was blackbooked at the Caulfield meeting on August 19 and our analyst said : Loved the return of this lightly raced six-year-old son of Written Tycoon. He lost almost two years of his racing career to injury before returning last time in where he strung three races together to tear through the lower grades. He returned over the short 1100m at Caulfield on Saturday, got back to worse than midfield on a track that did play heavily towards those on pace and charged home to get within three lengths on the line in what will turn out a strong form race. Unbeaten second-up and much better suited as he gets over 1200 to 1400m, he can be followed with confidence from now and right through the spring with so many options available.

GRANDE ROSSO (Race 9. No. 2)
The horse was blackbooked at the Flemington meeting on August 12 and our analyst said : This six-year-old son of Written Tycoon looks set for another big campaign for the Hayes-Dabernig stable. He took big steps last campaign winning four races including two at Listed level and he's always been a horse that improves dramatically on his fresh run. This time in he was outstanding in a Flemington jumpout and he backed that up with the best first-up run of his career when right there until out muscled late behind the classy Hey Doc in the Aurie's Star. All his best form is over the 1400 metre trip so there's plenty of options available at this time of year without taking on the best at weight-for-age. Follow him right throughout the spring and always include him in exotics, especially in strong races where he's likely to be a price.

DOOMBEN

ONE INCH PUNCH (Race 7 No. 7)
The horse was blackbooked at the Doomben meeting on August 12 and our analyst said: Resumed with a solid effort in a Class 6 over 1350m. Matt McGillivray urged him out of the gates but he didn't have early speed and was out the back early before saving ground near the rail to the home turn. He then ran on solidly in the straight for third and whilst beaten 3-1/2 lengths, he showed tenacity to hold the others off. Has been a consistent performer since moving from Victoria to join the Toby Edmonds stable having won three times and never being out of the top four in nine outings. He will gain fitness from the run, has a good second-up record and is capable in similar company up to a mile.
Odds $6 @ Sportsbet , Ladbrokes , Betstar , Bookmaker , CrownBet , Bet365 , Unibet

PINCH PASSION (Race 8 No. 12)
The horse was blackbooked at the Doomben meeting on August 19 and our analyst said : Maiden that put in a strong effort when stepping up to 1350m and taking on better performed three-year-olds. He was slowly away, settling some six lengths off them to the home turn where he shifted out but was held up before copping a bump at the 200m and shifting in to finish off well near the rail for fourth beaten less than a length. Trained by Rob Heathcote he is on the improve and will be placed to win a maiden shortly.
Odds $34 @ Sportsbet, Luxbet

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS

WEATHER CHANNEL (Race 6 No. 11)
The horse was blackbooked at the Morphettville meeting on August 19 and our analyst said : He gave every indication that he will rise to a new level this campaign with an eye-catching effort when hitting the line strongly for second, making up good late ground against on-pace tempo, over an unsuitably sort 1200m. He was placed against Listed company over 1400m last campaign when third-up and I think we'll see the best of him when stepped up to at least 1400m. Expecting further improvement next start, and wouldn't mind if the recent big wet continued as he seems to relish any give in the ground.
Odds $6.50 @ Luxbet

SUPREME POLARITY (Race 8 No. 8)
The horse was blackbooked at the Morphettville meeting on July 29 and our analyst said : Lightly raced, promising Phillip Stokes trained three-year-old that resumed with a terrific/luckless third placing after getting well out of his ground early. In fact, this gelding produced clearly the fastest final sectionals of the race, despite being checked losing all momentum when really hitting the line strongly at 75m. One could certainly argue he was going to be right in the finish, and given this BM75 being clearly the toughest assignment he has contested in his brief career to date, signs are definitely there that he wouldn't be out of place in anything up to Open Company over preferably longer than last Saturday's 1050m.
Odds $10 @ Ladbrokes, Betstar , Bookmaker , Sportsbet, Luxbet
THIS IS THE SECOND RUN SINCE BEING BLACKBOOKED – LAST CHANCE
Last start at Morphettville Parks on August 12 settled sixth the rails back off the pace, angled out behind runners approaching the turn but was badly held up until the 200m losing all momentum, eventually switching out. Only battled once clear but can still forgive.

MISS IDENTIFIED (Race 8 No. 13)
The horse was blackbooked at the Morphettville meeting on August 12 and our analyst said : This four-year-old mare only has a modest record but is a genuine Adelaide Saturday grade horse. She appears to have come back as well as ever, finding the line well in both runs this preparation behind the promising Miss Jane. Her second-up run was better than the first based on the fact she made good ground late against what was a clear on-pace dominated bias. To be beaten just 2-1/4 lengths was a real eye-catching effort. Hopefully she'll step up to 1400-1600m now and will be ready to win in her next two starts.
Odds $16 @ Unibet
THIS IS THE SECOND RUN SINCE BEING BLACKBOOKED – LAST CHANCE
Last start at Sandown Hillside on August 23 settled worse than mid-field and just plugged steadily in the straight.

BELMONT

PATAPUS (Race 4 No. 5)
The horse was blackbooked at the Belmont meeting on August 5 and our analyst said : Looked to have finally put it all together this preparation with an impressive victory two starts back but things didn't quite pan out as planned on Saturday. After jumping awkwardly and striking the jockey in the face, Patapus ended up at the tail in a strung out field yet caught the eye as the only runner to make up any significant ground in the run to the line. This now four-year-old mare is racing like a rise to a slightly longer trip will suit and if able to jump cleanly to take up a more prominent spot will be hard to hold out.
Odds $8.50 @ Sportsbet , CrownBet , Bet365 , Unibet
THIS IS THE SECOND RUN SINCE BEING BLACKBOOKED – LAST CHANCE
Last start on August 19 at Belmont was held-together into straight before being asked for an effort at the 225m but was outkicked wider out to go down by 1-1/2 lengths. Might appreciate drier ground more than the others.

PINZU (Race 5 No. 3)
The horse was blackbooked at the Belmont meeting on August 19 and our analyst said : Looks in for a big preparation after an enormous first-up run on Saturday. Racing in regular front plates for the first time since May last year, Pinzu found himself spotting a huge start in a strung-out field as the leader went hammer down from the outset. Straightening for home with many lengths to make up Pinzu rocketed to the line to be beaten a half-head in an eye-catching performance. The gelding with the strong career record is effective up to a mile and feature races over the Kalgoorlie round look firmly within range.
Odds $3.50 @ Ladbrokes, Betstar , Bookmaker
