$1.1million Deep Impact Colt to Ciaron Maher Racing

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 8

Segenhoe Stud have had some good sales at Inglis Easter online and were well rewarded for a Deep Impact colt with a big international pedigree that sold for $1.1million to Ciaron Maher Racing.

Lot 319 sold for $1.1million

Bred by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, he is the first Australian bred foal for an interesting mare in Amanee, an Australian bred daughter of Pivotal that was sent to South Africa to race.

She proved a very talented performer winning four races and claiming a Group I win in the Greyville Thekwini Stakes before stating her stud career in the Northern Hemisphere.

Amanee has had three foals in the Northern Hemisphere, one by Frankel and two by Deep Impact, with all three having raced and two of them placing.

A grand-daughter of champion racemare and blue hen Miesque, Amanee is now back in Australia and has a weanling filly by Pride of Dubai and is in foal to Deep Field.
