Racing to Resume after Negative Tests

Racing in Victoria and NSW is set to resume on Friday with Victorian rider Mark Zahra returning a negative test to Coronavirus.

Very Elleegant is favoruite for Saturday's Gr1 Tancred StakesRacing was shut down  on Wednesday but for Thursday’s Narromine meeting in NSW after Zahra was alerted to the fact he had travelled on the same flight as an infected person on March 12 and was required to undergo testing.

Hugh Bowman and Tommy Berry who had accompanied Zahra on a chartered flight to Sydney for the Golden Slipper have also returned negative tests.

Friday’s Victorian meetings at Warrnambool and Pakenham will take place as per programmed with Sydney’s Tancred Stakes meeting at Rosehill is also expected to be unaffected.

Racing in NSW on Friday is at Muswellbrook and Sapphire Coast.
