‘Auction Houses’ Listed in Shutdown Addition

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday March 24

Following a national cabinet meeting last night , Prime Minister Scott Morrison has ramped up restrictions imposed on Australians and their businesses with “auction houses” mentioned as an addition to the shutdown of pubs, clubs, nightclubs, casinos and gyms which came into effect on Monday.

The new rules , which also included a maximum of ten people being permitted to attend a funeral and just five at a wedding, come into effect from midnight.

The dramatic escalation of the battle to contain coronavirus came after Inglis had confirmed the date change for the Easter sale as well as reaffirming plans to have buyers on site at Riverside Stables by invitation only.

Under the revised plan, the Easter sale, comprising a 514-lot catalogue (minus 33 withdrawals ) , was to be held on Sunday and Monday, April 5 and 6, but it now appears doubtful to proceed in a ‘horses on complex’ format.
