Moonee Valley Sale Mail

Tara Madgwick - Thursday March 19

Golden Slipper day tomorrow might feature five Group I races, but Moonee Valley tonight has plenty to offer with four stakes races including the Group I MVRC William Reid Stakes as well as a Listed race for two year-olds.

Bivouac is chasing another Group I tonight at Moonee Valley - image Grant CourtneyThe William Reid features a rematch for the first four home in the recent Group I VRC Newmarket with star Godolphin colt Bivouac again set to face Loving Gaby, Gytrash and Zoutori.

“The William Reid will provide an excellent challenge for Bivouac in another Group I,” said James Cummings.

“The colt has toughened up after going for it against the older horses in difficult handicaps so far this campaign, and he’s well suited at weight-for-age now with his superior rating.”

Group I VRC Coolmore Stud  Stakes winner Exceedance is also in the field and will be a fitter horse at his second run back from a spell.
