Australian Horse of the Year Dissident posted his first Hong Kong winner overnight at Happy Valley when the John Moore trained Gala Night saluted.
Placed twice previously, Gala Night scored a half length win over 1800 metres.
Gala Night was a $525,000 Magic Millions purchase for George Moore Bloodstock from the draft of Newgate Farm and was the most expensive yearling by his sire sold at the Gold Coast in 2018.
Bred by SF Bloodstock and foaled and raised at Newgate, Gala Night is a half-brother to Group I winner Prompt Response and Group III winner Prompt Return and is the fifth winner from five to race from exceptional producer Prompt.
Dissident had a winning double on Wednesday with three year-old filly Huayu Rainbow breaking her maiden at her second start at Murray Bride as a short priced favourite.
Trained by Tony and Calvin McEvoy, she was a $150,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Yu Long Investments from the Carramar Park draft.
Newgate Farm's Dissident has a dozen entries for the Magic Millions Adelaide Sale next week and you can see them here.
