Spirit of Boom Colt Wins Black Opal Preview

The James Harron Bloodstock colours were in the winner’s circle at Canberra on Friday when two year-old Spirit of Boom colt Aftermath took out the $40,000 Black Opal Preview.

Spirit of BoomPrepared by Peter and Paul Snowden, Aftermath started favourite and finished from off the pace to score a head win in the 1000 metre scamper on debut.

A $170,000 Inglis Classic purchase for JHB from the Holbrook Thoroughbreds draft, Aftermath is the third winner from Elusive Gift (NZ), whose grand-dam is a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group I winner Camarena.

This is the family of Golden Slipper winners Canny Lad and Sepoy as well as Group I stars Camarilla, Guelph and Bivouac.

Aftermath is the eighth two year-old winner this season for Spirit of Boom.
