A $340,000 purchase by Spicer Thoroughbreds out of the Aquis draft at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Incredulous Dream is the highest priced yearling to sell by her first season sire Press Statement but it looks money well spent after she made an impressive racetrack debut over 1100 metres at Bendigo on Saturday.
It looked like she would have to settle for an honourable second when Lindsay Park’s Savabeel filly Hindaam struck the front full of running. With Harry Coffey in the saddle, Incredulous Dream powered home in the closing stages to win by a short-head with a further two and a quarter lengths back to the Pride Of Dubai filly Miss Kingston in third.
Another two-year-old winner for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Incredulous Dream is the second foal and second winner out of the winning Keep The Faith mare Incredulous who is a half-sister to the Group II Emancipation Stakes winner Faith Hill (Danehill) whose multiple stakes-winning daughter Black Minx (Lonhro) is the dam of crowd favourite So Si Bon (So You Think) the winner of the Group III VRC Aurie's Star Handicap and multiple Group 1 placed.
Incredulous Dream becomes the second
winner from the first crop of Vinery Stud’s Press Statement after Star Thoroughbreds Spokesman broke his maiden at Canterbury a fortnight back.
