Early betting picture for the Memsie Stakes

Brad Waters - Wednesday August 30

Vega Magic has maintained his grip on Memsie Stakes favouritism after the declaration of the final field for Saturday's Group I feature at Caulfield.

Vega Magic made a winning start to the spring at Listed Level at Caulfield on August 19 and bookies have the Goodwood winner as short as $2.50 to remain unbeaten for the Hayes and Dabernig stable.

The former Perth galloper is trading at prices between $2.50 and $2.70 to head Memsie Stakes betting ahead of triple Group I winner Le Romain, who is at quotes ranging from $5 to $6.

Four-year-old Hey Doc is next best in the betting at prices from $6 to $7 while Black Heart Bart and Yankee Rose as the other runners in single figures.
