Out of the Park strikes again

Just two months since her purchase off gavelhouse,com, Out of the Park has repaid her $14,000 purchase price and more after striking up two wins and a placing in just four starts.

The daughter of Ocean Park was purchased at the beginning of November for $14,000 by great mates Jack Stewart of White Robe Lodge and Mike Rennie, Business Manager for Waikato Stud who entrusted her to Woodlands-based trainer Robert Dennis.

Stepping up in distance to 2000m at Gore on Saturday, Stewart was happy with the good track conditions but was unsure of how she would handle the step up in trip,“My cousin Jake (Lowry) who rode her in the last three starts, said she was only just starting to click into gear over a mile.”

Out of the Park settled in a mid-field position in the running before circling the field on the home turn. She and runner up Olaf mustered a thrilling battle in the straight with a big margin back to the rest of the field and the gavelhouse.com graduate finishing just 0.1 lengths in front.

“She has pulled up great, she ate up and licked the bowl clean,” said Stewart.

“Now we know she will go the distance, we will map out a plan for her in the next couple of days when Mike and I are able to sit down together.”

“We actually bought her as a broodmare but it was too late to breed from her last season,”

“Going forward we will probably send her back to Waikato Stud to one of their stallions, but that’s all a little way off yet.”
