The record breaking 2020 Magic Millions Yearling Sale provided outstanding results for many vendors including progressing Southern Highlands based farm Lime Country Thoroughbreds, which set a number of new personal bests at the Gold Coast showcase.

$850,000 American Phaorah colt from Derelique bought by Tom MagnierUnder the expert care of Greg and Jo Griffin and their dedicated team of staff, the Lime Country yearlings were presented in superb condition and duly rewarded their owners in the sale ring.

“We had our highest priced yearling ever on Wednesday when Coolmore purchased our American Pharaoh colt from Derelique for $850,000 and then that record was smashed within 24 hours by the sale of our More Than Ready colt from La Fluorescent that made $900,000 when secured by Spendthrift Australia,” said a delighted Jo Griffin.

“The American Pharoah colt was offered on behalf of brother and sister Brad and Deanne Crismale giving them their best ever result in the sale ring and our Brazen Beau colt from Beauty Kit that made $400,000 was also a best ever result for his breeders Riverdene Stud.

“To be able to get results like this for new clients in their first year with us is really satisfying and an outcome we strive to achieve. They’ve taken the risks, made the investments and years of decisions to come to this point and we are so happy to have been able to finish the job for them on sale day.”
