First Justify Foal Born in Northern Hemisphere

Tara Madgwick - Sunday January 5

Coolmore’s Triple Crown winner Justify (USA) has just completed his first Australian season at stud covering a star studded book of 132 mares, while in the Northern Hemisphere breeders are now expecting his first foals.

Born at Amaroo Farm in Kentucky for Audley Farm, this filly by Justify is the first foal for the winning Exchange Rate mare Foreign Affair.

“She’s got great bone and plenty of leg, a quality first foal for the mare. We couldn’t be happier,” said Audley Farm’s Jamie McDiarmid.

JustifyForeign Affair is a half-sister to dual-Grade III winner and five-time Group I-placed So Perfect and Listed-placed Scat Eddie. Their winning dam Hopeoverexperience is a half-sister to Grade II winner Cowtown Cat.

With his first NH book including 41 Grade I winners, Justify bred the most Grade I winning mares of any North American sire in 2019 and is poised to follow in the footsteps of fellow Triple Crown winner and now Champion First Crop Sire American Pharoah, whose first yearlings will be offered at Magic Millions this week.

Mares covered in Australia by Justify last spring include Aspen Falls (USA) (dam of G1 winner Irish Lights), G1 winner Atlantic Jewel, Bella Sunday (dam of G1 winner Oohood), G1 winner Black Mamba, Dom Perion (dam of G1 winner Extra Brut), Dragon’s Tail (dam of G1 winner Age of Fire), G1 winner Global Glamour, Julinsky Princess (dam of G1 winner Julinsky Prince), Maastricht (dam of G1 winner Loving Gaby), G1 winner Nakeeta Jane, G1 winners Savvy Coup. G1 winner Scarlett Lady, G1 winner Srikandi and G1 winner The Party Stand.
