Dashing
grey entire Reliable Man (GB) made a lasting impression when he powered to
victory in the 2013 Group I ATC Queen Elizabeth Stakes and sired his first
Australian winner at Wangaratta on Monday when Sully saluted as a short priced favourite.
Prepared by Natalie Young and Trent Busuttin, Sully was second on debut at
Ballarat on June 4 and then chased home boom colt Royal Symphony for third at
Flemington in June 24.
Freshened up for this 1400 metre maiden, Sully surged home from back in the
field to win by a length and a half.
A $36,000 NZB Select Sale purchase from the draft of Wentwood Grange for BD Racing,
Sully is a half-brother to stakes-placed Deedee Panache and is the third winner
for Casual Lies (USA) mare Lady Winifred.
Sully is the first Australian winner for Reliable Man (GB), who is also the
sire of Group I placed filly Belle du Nord from his first crop of NZ bred foals
that are now three.
Reliable Man stands at Westbury Stud at a fee of $17,500.
