G1 Winning Mare for Sale on Gavelhouse

Recently retired Group I Zabeel Classic (2000m) winner Consensus has been put on the market, with the daughter of Postponed offered in-foal to Group One sire Iffraaj on online auction site gavelhouse.com.

G1 winner Consensus is for saleTrained by South Auckland horseman Stephen McKee, Consenus’ racing career spanned six seasons and included 11 victories, six of those at stakes level.

Highlights included victories in the Zabeel Classic at Ellerslie and Gr.2 Sunline Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley, while she was Group One placed on three occasions.

McKee was full of praise for the mare and believes she will be an excellent addition to commercial broodmare bands.

“She has been a pleasure to have in the stable over the years, she’s got a fantastic temperament and is just a lovely mare to do anything with,” he said.

“She’s been on countless trips away and is really well put together which is obviously why she has been able to race over so many seasons.

“She’s very, very sound for an older mare.”

Featuring 31 Lots in total, the auction is set to close from 7pm on Monday.
