Thoroughbred Sport Horse action moved to Stonewall Equestrian on the Central Coast last weekend with a terrific weekend of showjumping featuring classes sponsored by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and some outstanding winners including Jessica Bott’s dashing grey mare Raise an Angel ridden by Nelson Smyth.
A winner of one of her 10 starts, eight year-old Raise an Angel had her last race in January 2016 and the eight year-old has certainly found her calling as a jumper winning the Group 2 class at 1.10 and finishing second in the Group I class at 1.20.
Her sire Floral Pegasus (by Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus (USA) was bred in Australia, but did his racing in Hong Kong where he was a high class performer winning multiple stakes race before returning to Australia to stand at stud.
Raise an Angel’s grey colouring comes from her mother So Super Quick, a half-sister by Octagonal to a very well known grey Group I winner in Quick Flick, who won 16 races and over $1.2million highlighted by victory in the Group I STC George Ryder Stakes.
Below are all the results and congratulations to the winners and thankyou to our sponsors.
