MOSSMAN GORGE

Jay Ford

He's a nice horse. He's obviously come back really well this prep. Like I was saying previously Matt obviously had a high opinion of him to take him towards the Black Opal in his first preparation and that was a good solid win again. They made him work to get across to the front but what I liked was when he got there all he wanted to do was relax underneath me.

2nd

NIC'S VENDETTA

Josh Adams

Good run. Back to 1100m, fresh is probably his go. I think there is another one in two weeks at 1200m which should suit him. But he gets a lot of weight against these horses and that makes it very difficult.

3rd

LIFESAVER

Tye Angland

We got out in time but he just didn't sprint as well as I thought he would. He might be looking for 1400m.

4th

UNDAOAF

Brock Ryan (a3)

Travelled up really well but just couldn't sprint with them. Battled away.

5th

LEVEE BANK

Megan Taylor (a3)

She ran home well after missing the start.

6th

RED KNOT

Hugh Bowman

Couldn't sprint with them.

7th

MENNEKE BELLE

Rachael Murray

She went ok, I thought she was brave but she hung a bit, so it didn't do us any favours.

8th

MUSIC MAGIC

Andrew Adkins (a1.5)

Obviously went a bit silly in the barriers but has probably had enough at the same time.

9th

MY MAGGIE

Corey Brown

Better suited in the country.

MARIQUITA

Rachel King (a1.5)

She made it a lot easier for herself today. She was always racing very well before but just wasn't beginning as well and making it hard but flashing home. She was always travelling really well and I know she has a great turn of foot.

2nd

AWOKE (NZ)

Hugh Bowman

No luck.

3rd

CHATUCHAK

Brenton Avdulla

She ran honest first go at the trip. Maybe better ridden in behind.

4th

PRADA MISS

Tye Angland

Not a bad run. Tactically we got into a nice position. Hughy cranked it up a little earlier than I would have liked. I let him go, followed him into the corner but wasn't good enough to pick them up.

5th

ELOUERA

Kathy O'Hara

Track was a bit too firm for her today.

6th

EVA JEAN

Travis Wolfgram

She was just outclassed.

7th

CASH SPINNER

Andrew Adkins (a1.5)

Track was too hard.

TANGO RAIN

Brenton Avdulla

Terrific. Ran well first-up and is a talented colt on his day. Jumped and cruised along, just kept increasing the speed and he was too good for them.

2nd

MARSUPIAL

Glyn Schofield

I must admit when I popped off Pumpkin Pies back I thought I was the winner. He accelerated well but I think just a bit of race fitness from the winner.

3rd

ISORICH

Lee Magorrian (a3)

Ran a real nice race, probably 1200m would have been perfect for him today. He was really coming again strongly at the line.

4th

PUMPKIN PIE

Blake Shinn

Solid effort.

5th

LADY JIVAGO

Corey Brown

Just needs further now.

6th

IMPROVEMENT (NZ)

Deanne Panya (a2)

She just wasn't really herself. Didn't travel comfortably like she usually does so maybe it was the ground.

7th

COSMOPOL

Jay Ford

Closed off well late. Just wants a bit further.

8th

FLY FORWARD

Kathy O'Hara

Not a bad return from him.

9th

SKYLIGHT GLOW

Hugh Bowman

Nice first-up run.

10th

BEAU TIRAGE

Andrew Adkins (a1.5)

Tried hard but was just a bit outclassed.

11th

SALERNO

Courtney Van Der Werf (a3)

Probably just prefers a wetter track.

Good effort from a nice progressive horse. He wasn't suited by the sit and sprint today but he got the job done.

2nd

CHATELARD (NZ)

Blake Shinn

Ran a great race.

3rd

NAT KING CU

Tim Clark

Good effort.

4th

QUICK DEFENCE (USA)

Brenton Avdulla

He ran honest, it's just hard to make ground. Obviously the track is quick and he likes the cut out of the ground.

5th

MISS DUBOIS (NZ)

Glyn Schofield

Another good run from this mare. She's knocking on the door.

6th

VAUCLUSE BAY

Corey Brown

Didn't get much luck. The speed went on way too early and then it was just a bottle neck. I don't know how the winner got through.

7th

HUNTER JACK

Courtney Van Der Werf (a3)

Ran a really good race, just felt the pinch late.

8th

MEET AND GREET

Brad Stewart

He raced good first time over 2000m.

9th

DREAM LANE

Jay Ford

She's off to be a mum.

10th

NOT A GYPSY

Tye Angland

The race changed complexion when Blake took off and it didn't suit him.

11th

MORE THAN FABULOUS

Andrew Adkins (a1.5)

Went too slow. He was pulling too hard.

DEE I CEE (NZ)

Rachel King (a0)

Super win. He was able to travel the bit stronger today and picked up really well to the line. He's just the type of horse you've got to keep him happy and keep him full of confidence. He's got a lot of ability but he's a bit older now and if he gets knocked around he's not going to want to give for you and he definitely gave everything today.

2nd

CLASSIC UNIFORM

Tim Clark

Ran great, just wants a wet track but he's flying.

3rd

CENTRE PIVOT

Glyn Schofield

Good effort, he worked home well.

4th

DESTINY'S KISS

Hugh Bowman

Another honest run from a horse that's got more experience then I do.

5th

KING VIV (NZ)

Jay Ford

Decent effort for him first time at stakes level.

6th

LOYALTY MAN

Brenton Avdulla

I thought he was ok. I think he is a 1600m horse though.

7th

HIPPARCHUS (GB)

Corey Brown

I don't think he wants to be a racehorse.

8th

BROADSIDE (NZ)

Andrew Adkins (a0)

I just had to do too much work getting around them.

ADDICTIVE NATURE

Got softened up, worked, softened up, kicked. I think if he was outside the other horse he would have settled better. We haven't seen the best of him yet. He's a pretty exciting horse.

2nd

ASSIMILATE

Hugh Bowman

Excellent performance. I couldn't expect anything more.

3rd

ASTORIA

Tye Angland

Really nice run. First start this prep so he's got plenty of fitness to come.

4th

MAHALANGUR (NZ)

Brenton Avdulla

He ran well. He's a really nice colt. That will teach him a lot. I went to make my run on him at the 300m, Hughie went past so quick that when he went past my bloke shied away from him and then he went to the line half-hearted.

5th

HYPNOTIST

Blake Shinn

Honest effort.

6th

RUNAWAY

Rachel King (a0)

Good run. I think he wants a lot further and I think he is stepping up in distance next start. Just out sprinted today.

7th

SAMBRO

Jay Ford

Travelled well in transit but didn't give me much to the line.

8th

COLESBERG

Corey Brown

Too short for him yet.

PARIAH

Blake Shinn

It was great to see the horse come back the way he has today. Things couldn't have panned out any better from an awkward draw but the horse did everything I asked of him it's great to see him come back for everyone involved.

2nd

CHAUFFEUR

Brenton Avdulla

He was terrific. He jumped well but he's just go no speed and wanted to relax. I tracked Pariah everywhere he went and his best work was the last 50m.

3rd

JORDA

Glyn Schofield

Needed the run but couldn't find it. Ran well.

4th

MADEENATY

Corey Brown

Ran great, just peaked on her run. She'll improve out of sight on that.

5th

SPEED STREET

Rachel King (a0)

Not a bad run first-up. Probably just got a little bit tired first-up.

6th

TAKING AIM

Hugh Bowman

Good first-up run.

7th

PERAST

Jay Ford

He's actually going better than it looks. He just wants further and in a race where he can control it.

8th

CONDOR HEROES

Tim Clark

He'll improve with the run.

9th

ANOTHER SIN

Josh Adams

He just raced liked a tired horse. He's done a good job this prep.

SPECIAL MISSILE

Blaike McDougall (a3)

He's a textbook ride. He begins well and makes his own luck in running. He travelled exceptionally well. When I came up to Jay he just knuckled down, ears back and really hit the line. He gave me a great feel. I was never in doubt.

2nd

MAPMAKER

Corey Brown

Run well. They are going to step him up and take the blinkers off. I think it'll suit.

3rd

THE PHAROAH

Jay Ford

Was game but the winner was too good.

4th

FRANCESCO

Brenton Avdulla

I put my dollar in the coin slot and he took me around and showed me the lot.

5th

COOLCRAFT

Tye Angland

Probably ran the best he could. There were a few smart horses in front of him.

6th

HOGMANAY

Lee Magorrian (a3)

He was a little slow away, I think he is looking for the 1900m now.

7th

KNOW HOW

Rachel King (a1.5)

Not too bad a run just ended up too far back.

8th

MEINER FRECCIA (JPN)

Andrew Adkins (a1.5)

Too much of a sit and sprint.

Good mare with a good record. She puts herself in the spot. Drew the right gate and she did a good job under the big weight. She'll improve off the run as well. What you see is what you get with her.

2nd

NO DOUBT

Blake Shinn

Great run. Made good progression from his first-up run. It was a shame not win today but I'm sure there is a win not far away.

3rd

SUPREME EFFORT

Brenton Avdulla

Ran terrific first-up off a long break.

4th

SIR PLUSH (NZ)

Jay Ford

That was a bounce back from the other day. Probably just needs to draw a better barrier so we can tag the leaders.

5th

SELITA

Rachel King (a1.5)

Really good run probably just feeling the firm track a little bit.

6th

MOGADOR

Glyn Schofield

Geez he ran well, just a bit slow to begin really but it was a good effort.

7th

GOT UNDERS

Andrew Gibbons

They were a bit sharp for him. Once he gets to 1400m he'll be a winner.
