Racenet lays for Saturday

Breednet - Friday August 25

Finding a winner is not getting any easier and the Racenet analysts have put their heads together to give punters another tool to help them turn a profit with the Racenet lays of the day.

We're prepared to risk this favourite on Saturday.

Below are the favoured runners that the Racenet men have discounted as winning chances on Saturday.

THE PHAROAH

$3.50

Only missed a place once from seven starts but he might find things tougher here. Won his last start over 1350m at Rosehill but rises 4kg and up in distance. Looks to be speed inside him so may not get the easiest run and happy to risk him as the favourite.

Moonee Valley

YOGI

$3.10

Last start Flemington winner trained by Darren Weir so understand he can be favourite but at this price! Took the length of the Flemington straight to wear down Chequered Flag in restricted grade last start and he steps up to an Open Handicap around the tight Valley circuit. He looks very short to us in a race with plenty of chances.

SARAJAVO

$4

Has already been backed into favouritism but we are talking about a horse that has not won for two and a half years. His best form is good enough for a race like this but it's been a while since he’s shown it. First-up off a seven month break but has had six trials. Not for us.

Morphettville

SO SKILLED

$3.25

Only lightly raced and looks to have good ability but he might be vulnerable here, first-up in a big field with the rail out. He’s a get back sort if his last two starts are a reliable guide and it’s his first time on a heavy track.

Belmont

GUNNAGO

$2.40

In good form and drawn well but up 2kg for last start defeat over 1400m on a heavy track. The slightly shorter trip here will suit and is obviously the horse to beat however, there are some strong finishers in this on a drier track and we’re prepared to take him on at the odds.
