Mizzy for Everest?

Tara Madgwick - Saturday September 28
Quality mare Mizzy spent much of her two and three year-old season playing the bridesmaid, but since turning four it's been all blue sky for the daughter of Zoustar, who has reeled off three successive wins in Group races, the latest coming at Rosehill on Saturday when she scored a blazing win in the Group II ATC Golden Pendant Stakes.

Taken to the front by Tommy Berry, the Anthony Cummings trained mare was never seriously challenged and scored a dominant length and a quarter in the 1400 metre contest.

Mizzy - images Steve HartAnthony Cummings was quick to talk up her merits as a possible Everest horse.

"She'll go to the Silver Eagle, Golden Eagle or The Everest if someone wants to win it," Cummings said.

"Watching Chris's (Waller) horse (Enticing Star), he might have a slot to use if he'd like to give it too Mizzy. I'm all ears.

"All jokes aside she's got the perfect racing style for the race.

"If you look at what Redzel's done and I think I've got an idea on what it takes to match it with him and she's the perfect horse to do it.

"All the others haven't got what she has to make the difference against him in particular.

"Whether he's the right one to take aim at itis another thing but certainly they'd be in it for a long way if someone wanted to have a shot with her."

A $200,000 Inglis Easter purchase for her trainer from the Segenhoe Stud draft, Mizzy has won four of 16 starts and placed a further five times earning in excess of $670,000 in prizemoney.

Bred by Robert Crabtree, Mizzy is the first foal of Magnus stakes-winner Missy Cummings, a daughter of stakes-winner Lady Knockout. Missy Cummings has a yearling colt by Capitalist and is in foal to Written Tycoon.

Mizzy is one of 10 stakes-winners for Zoustar, who is fully booked at Widden Stud this spring at a fee of $154,000.
