Wandjina Colt Confirms Spring Potential

Tara Madgwick - Monday September 16
The Group II VRC Danehill Stakes at Flemington on Saturday produced some fine performances for several classy three year-olds including Wandjina colt Express Pass, who charged home for third to Dalasan and Dubious.

Wandjina is the sire of Express PassPrepared by Nick Ryan, Express Pass was stakes-placed at his only start as a juvenile and resumed from a spell with an impressive maiden win at Bendigo last month.

Despite over-racing for Ben Melham and doing himself no favours, Express Pass still hit the line hard on Saturday in the 1200 metre sprint giving notice of better things to come.

Entered for the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas, Express Pass was a modest $38,000 Inglis VOBIS Gold purchase for JJ Consultants / Nick Ryan Racing from the Blue Gum Farm draft.

He is the second winner from well related More Than Ready (USA) mare Pass the Parcel, who comes from the family of Group I winners Kementari and Sterling City.

Express Pass looks a future stakes-winner for Snitzel's Group I winning son Wandjina, who stands at Newgate Farm at a fee of $22,000 this spring.
