Racing NSW BOBS Registrations Due

Media Release - Monday September 2
Operating since 2003, the average racing season is paying out over $13 million in cash bonuses, Double Up vouchers and Mare bonuses, bringing the total since the scheme's inception to over $140 million.

To be eligible for BOBS a racehorse must be sired by an NSW-based stallion for which the stallion nomination fee has been paid. That stallion's progeny may then be advertised or sold as weanlings or yearlings as BOBS eligible (visit the stallions list).

BOBS & BOBS Extra Bonus

Owners are required to nominate the horse for a fee of $990, nominations must be put in today to avoid late fees for horses that turned 2YO in 2019(click here to download the form). The horse can then win a BOBS bonus of up to $22,500 for each win on NSW tracks (except Group and some Listed races) during its 2YO and 3YO racing career.Owners can also opt to nominate for BOBS Extra which extends BOBS bonus payments to 4YO racehorses over a staying distance of 1800m and beyond.

BOBS Mare Bonus

Racing NSW now pays a larger BOBS Mare bonus to the registered breeder (as set out in the Australian Stud Book) of any horse who wins a BOBS bonus. Have you registered your mares, its a simple process (click here to download the form).

As an example, the registered breeder of a broodmare whose BOBS nominated progeny are successful at a Saturday metropolitan race meeting will receive a $5,000 BOBS bonus. Payments will be made at the same percentage rate of the BOBS bonus across all races in NSW excluding Group and some Listed races.

BOBS Double Up (Stallions)

BOBS Double Up vouchers can also be used for stallion service fee payments for participating NSW based stallions. The stud must be registered for the Double Up programme and the stallion must be BOBS nominated (Click here to download the form).
