The
leading sire in New Zealand last season for two year-old winners, former Haunui
Farm shuttler Showcasing (GB) has an outstanding three year-old sprinter in
Europe this year in Advertise, who won the Group I Prix Maurice de Gheest at
Deauville overnight.
Already a Group I winner this year of the Commonwealth Cup at Royral Ascot, the
Martyn Meade trained colt claimed the third Group I victory of his career so far
when taking out the six and a half furlong sprint by a neck under Frankie
Dettori as favoruite.
A Group I winner at two of the Phoenix Stakes at The Curragh, Advertise has the
overall record of five wins and three seconds from nine starts.
"You have to always
finish on a high so I'm going to be pretty positive where I put Advertise next
time," sad Martyn Meade.
"I'm not going to throw him in just for the chance, we're not just in it for
the prize-money but to actually make a really nice stallion and I think he's
proving that's what he really is. He might run once or twice more, maybe we
could come back to France on Arc day for the Foret."
Advertise is from winning Pivotal mare Furbelow, a full sister to stakes-winner
Red Diadem.
Advertise is the best of 38 stakes-winners for Oasis Dream stallion Showcasing,
who stands at Whitsbury Manor Stud at a fee of 55,000 pounds. His last New
Zealand bred yearlings will be offered for sale in 2020.
