New
to Victoria this spring, Foxwedge has had 18 winners since the start of the
month adding another juvenile winner to the tally at Pakenham on Tuesday with an
easy victory for the Greg Eurell trained Hezafox.
Stepped up to 1400 metres at his third starter and second run back from a
spell, Hezaten was sent out favourite and powered home from back in the field
to win by half a neck beating older rivals.
Hezafox was passed in as a yearling and retained to race by a syndicate that
includes his breeder.
The seventh two year-old winner this season for Foxwedge, Hezafox is from
Shezaten, a half-sister to Group II winner Bird of Fire by Handsome Ransom.
A proven Group I producing son of champion sire Fastnet Rock, Foxwedge stands
at Woodside Park this spring at a fee of $16,500.
