22nd 2YO Winner for I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Monday July 1
Bought because she reminded her trainer Shane Nichols of his Group I winner I Am a Star, two year-old filly Kingstar Amber became the 22nd Australian two year-old winner for her I Am Invincible sire this season when saluting on Monday at Tatura.

Kingstar Amber as a yearlingSent to Sandown for her first start last month, Kingstar Amber led and faded in the heavy ground to finish unplaced, but with race experience on her side this time and better fitness she was able to cast off maiden status with a half length win in the juvenile maiden over 1100 metres.

A $110,000 Magic Millions purchase for Shane Nichols Racing from the Aquis Farm draft, Kingstar Amber runs for an ownership group that includes Kingstar Racing Syndicates in whose colours she runs and Kingstar Farm owner Matthew Sandblom, who raced I Am a Star.

Kingstar Amber is the first winner for stakes-placed Wroclaw, a grand-daughter of Group I placed Zabeel mare Zastov.

Her success moves I Am Invincible to 22 Australian two year-old winners for the season, which is now two clear of Queensland first crop sensation Better Than Ready on 20 winners.

I Am Invincible is fully booked this spring at a fee of $247,500 and will cover the world's best racehorse in Winx in her first season at stud.
