Houtzen to Remain in UK

Toby Edmonds Racing have Tweeted this morning that brilliant sprinting mare Houtzen will remain in work after her eighth place finish in the Group I King's Stand Stakes and join the stable of Martin Meade before being covered by one of the best sires in Europe.

Edmonds Racing Tweeted - We have decided to transfer Houtzen to Martin Meade for her final run before being served by Loup De Vega good luck with her she has been great for our stable and clients.

$2million earner HoutzenHoutzen is likely to run in a five furlong Group II sprint at Goodwood next month before being served by outstanding Group I sire Lope de Vega.

The $2million earner will be the second daughter of I Am Invincible going to Lope de Vega in the Northern Hemisphere this year with his dual Group I winner Viddora also set to be covered by the star son of Shamardal after being purchased by SF Bloodstock and Newgate Farm.

Lope de Vega shuttled to Patinack Farm in Australia for four seasons at the start of his stud career and is now one of the elite European stallions standing at Ballylinch Stud in Ireland at a fee of 80,000 euros.

His Australian bred progeny include Group I sprinters Santa Ana Lane and Vega Magic.
