The latest gavelhouse, com fortnightly New Zealand auction features a special consignment with six-time New Zealand Breeder of the Year winners Waikato Stud offering a draft of 27 unreserved weanlings for sale.
The Matamata-based nursery comprise a big chunk of the 83-Lot catalogue, with x-rays for each of their entries available for viewing in the New Zealand Bloodstock online repository.
Waikato Stud's famous hospitality and progressive approach to selling their stock sees the team set to host three on-farm parade days from 10am to 2pm on June 6, 9 and 10. Each day will start with a full parade of all 27 Lots followed by a barbeque lunch and drinks.
"This year we have made a couple of changes to the way we sell our weanlings and broodmares by offering them for sale through the online sale platform gavelhouse.com," Waikato Stud principal Mark Chittick said.
"We have a great line-up of weanlings by proven sires that will give pin-hookers, and those looking to buy a young horse to raise and race, the opportunity to access some of our top bloodlines.
"Our aim is to offer buyers a mature, well-raised product they can take through to the next stage in their career and the horses offered will meet a range of budgets.
"The auction gives buyers the opportunity to purchase from a range of successful Waikato Stud stallions and mares."
Sires represented in the draft include the likes of Kermadec , Pins , Ocean Park , Sacred Falls and progeny from the first crop of Tivaci who sold well at Karaka last month when fetching up to $95,000.
Bidding in the auction is set to close starting with Lot 1 from 7pm NZ time on Monday 10 June.
