I
Am Invincible posted an impressive debut juvenile winner in South Africa on
Thursday when the Yarraman Park bred and sold filly Lady Defiance saluted at
Vaal with her dam to be offered at the NM National Broodmare Sale later today
in the supplementary section.
A half-sister to Group I SAJC South Australian Derby winner Leicester, the Mike
de Kock trained Lady Defiance raced clear for an easy two length win in the
1450 metre juvenile fillies maiden.
A $300,000 Inglis premier purchase for Form Bloodstock from the Yarraman Park
draft, Lady Defiance is the second winner for Galileo mare Defy the Odds (GB),
a half-sister to Group III winner Index Linked.
Defy the Odds has not had a living foal since Lady Defiance, but is in foal to champion
sire Fastnet Rock and will be offered in the supplementary section of the Magic
Millions National Broodmare Sale on Friday as Lot 1921.
The mating will produce a three-quarter sibling to her Group I winner Leicester.
