Aquis
Farm have formed partnerships with many high profile breeders and one of those
bore fruit at Warwick Farm on Wednesday when promising Medaglia D'Oro (USA)
colt Minted carried the Aquis colours to victory in a brilliant front running
win.
Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Minted disappointed as favourite on
debut at Kembla earlier this month, but was a different horse this time around.
He bounded straight to the front for Adam Hyeronimus and led all the way to win
the 1200 metre maiden by nearly two lengths.
Stable representative Neil Paine was well pleased with the win.
"He's a very nice horse going forward," Paine said.
"That trip away to the provincials for his first start can work very well to
bring them along as it has with him."
A $460,000 Magic Millions purchase for Aquis/ Gai Waterhouse Racing , Minted
runs for Aquis in partnership with his breeder Newhaven Park and the Ingham Smith
Syndicate.
Minted is the third winner from stakes-placed Encosta de Lago mare Fashion, a
half-sister to stakes-winner Villain from Group I VATC Blue Diamond Stakes
winner True Jewels.
Minted is another talented winner this season for Darley's former outstanding
shuttle sire Medaglia D'Oro, who turned 20 this year and no longer shuttles to
Australia.
His last Australian crop of foals are weanlings.
