Coolmore's Triple Crown hero American Pharoah was the leading first crop sire with nine weanlings selling at an average $134,167 and his best result was achieved by a colt from World Map (IRE) that made $255,000.
Consigned by Erinvale Thoroughbreds, he is the third foal of a well related Pivotal mare that comes from the family of Group I winners Sense of Style, Valentine Waltz and leading sire Last Tycoon.
He was bought by Grant Bloodstock, who have been active at this sale purchasing high quality pinhook prospects.
American Pharaoh is back in Australia this spring at a fee of $66,000.
Newgate Farm's Golden Slipper winner Capitalist proved every but as popular as you would hope with 15 weanlings averaging $129,667.
The champion son of Written Tycoon did best with a colt from Impetuous that made $255,000 for Newgate when bought by Bruce Mackenzie, while a colt from Iggimacool was not far behind fetching $200,000 for Newgate when bought by Grant Bloodstock.
Capitalist is priced this spring at $55,000.
Darley Victoria's spectacular grey Tapit stallion Frosted (USA) was next on the averages list and also had the honour of achieving the single best result for a first crop sire with his filly from Fast Fleet (dam of multiple Group I winner Santa Ana Lane) fetching $300,000 for Aquis Farm when snapped up by Redwall Bloodstock.
Frosted is also back in Australia this spring at the reduced fee of $27,500.
Aquis Farm's Caulfield Guineas winner Divine Prophet had posted some eye-catching results at previous weanling sales in Sydney and New Zealand and kept up the good work here.
A horse that owes more in appearance to his dam sire Encosta de Lago than his sire Choisir, Divine Prophet had nine weanlings average $96,944 with his best result a colt from Rose Quadrille that made $205,000 for Aquis Farm when purchased by Redwall Bloodstock. He was one of five youngsters by Divine Prophet that fetched $100,000 or more, a remarkable result for a stallion off a $22,000 fee.
He remains at $22,00 this spring at Aquis in the Hunter Valley.
