Champion
Victorian sire Written Tycoon has been riding high this season with two new
Group I winners in Despatch and Booker, but this week will bid farewell to one
of his stalwart Group I stars in Music Magnate with his trainer Bjorn Baker
announcing the seven year-old gelding has been retired.
"He's been a really good horse that I will miss," Baker told Racenet.
"He's been a part of the stable for so long.
"He was a real quirky bugger. A horse that every one has a soft spot for
around the stable.
"He did a really good job for us. I'd love to find another one."
Music Magnate is likely to spend his retirement on a Victoria property of one
of his owners.
Music Magnate won nine of 31 starts earning over $1.2 million with highlight
wins in the Group I BRC Doomben 10,000 and Group II ATC Expressway Stakes and
BRC Victory Stakes.
