Edinburgh Park Magic Weanlings

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 17
Past Edinburgh Park Magic Millions National Sale weanling drafts have included Australia's leading first season sire by winners Better Than Ready and smart stakes-winner Eximius which is all the reason you need to see what they have on offer at the Gold Coast next week.

Multiple SW and leading young sire Better Than Ready was bred and sold as a weanling at MM by Edinburgh Park"We're all about producing good racehorses that can provide a great result for their owners," said Edinburgh Park's Ian Smith.

"We sold Better Than Ready at this sale in 2010 for $120,000 and he ended up a multiple stakes-winner and is now one of the best first season sires in the country.

"Edinburgh Park raised horses get a great start in life and include Wednesday metro winners Despacito (Sandown) and Fun Fact (Warwick Farm). It's about producing quality young thoroughbreds that can do the job for which they are purchased."

Edinburgh Park will present a draft of nine (Click here to see them) with the obvious highlight a stunning by filly by I Am Invincible's exciting young sire son Brazen Beau.

Brazen Beau is one of the hottest young sires in the landTo be offered as Lot 328, the Brazen Beau filly is the first foal of Military Operation, a half-sister to the dam of stakes-winning two year-old Lady Jivago from the Singles bar branch of the famed Easy Date family.

Star members of the family include leading sire Not a Single Doubt and Group I ATC Flight Stakes winner Oohood, so this filly has the depth of pedigree to make her a very valuable commodity if she finds her way to Black Type on the track.

Two well grown colts from the first crop of Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas winner Divine Prophet are sure to make plenty of appeal.

Lot 20 is the first foal of Sydney metropolitan winner Bold Beginning from the family of Golden Slipper winners Capitalist and Merlene as well as Group I sprinter Miss Pennymoney and VRC Oaks winner Dear Demi.

Lot 646 is a half-brother to Melbourne metro winner Black and Tan, who was also fourth in a Listed race in Adelaide. The colt is from well bred mare A Quiet Shandy, a full sister to stakes-winner Becerra from the family of Group I winning fillies Episode and First Seal.

Dual Group I winning sprinter Extreme Choice is another first season sire set to make an impact at this sale with Edinburgh Park delighted with Lot 483, a lovely filly by the Blue Diamond winner from Seagrove. She is the second foal of Seagrove, an Exceed and Excel sibling to stakes performers San Diego and Soledad from the family of Group I winner Hill of Grace.
