Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 8
Aquis Farm have retired a number of good colts and stallions to stud this spring , but Group I Victoria Derby winner Extra Brut won't be following that path having been sold to Hong Kong.

Extra Brut won the Victoria Derby - image Grant Courtney"He's the perfect horse for the Hong Kong system," Aquis chief executive Shane McGrath said of Extra Brut on Wednesday.

"He's a horse that appreciates a firmer surface and he'll definitely get that there. He's a Derby winner already and hopefully he can go off and win the Hong Kong Derby for his new connections."

By Domesday, whose Queensland Derby winner Ruthven was also sold to Hong Kong, Extra Brut is expected to join the stable of Frankie Lor, who trained Aussie bred Pierro gelding Furore to win this year's Hong Kong Derby.

Extra Brut's stablemate Global Exchange (Dundeel) is also bound for Hong Kong along with Group III ATC Gloaming Stakes winner Thinkin' Big (So You Think) and Kiwi bred ATC Australian Derby place-getter Surely Sacred (Rock 'n' Pop).
