Fairhill Farm Weanlings on Show at Riverside Stables

Tara Madgwick - Monday April 29
Mike and Debbie O'Donnell of Fairhill Farm have been great supporters of the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale and will present a cracking draft of 32 youngsters this Thursday at Riverside Stables including the first Australian bred offspring of US Triple Crown hero American Pharoah (USA).

Already the sire of a winner in Ireland another in North America from his first three runners, American Pharaoh was an iconic racehorse that is expected to translate his phenomenal racetrack success to the breeding barn.

One of only two lots in the sale by American Pharoah, Lot 140 is an athletic bay colt, very much in the mould of his sire and is the first foal of good Sydney metropolitan winner Yuma Desert, a daughter of leading sire Not a Single Doubt.

Pierro is one of those sires that just keeps going ahead and Lot 111 is a filly that makes plenty of appeal being a half-sister to Group III winner Vinnie Eagle from good producer Sweet Maggie.

Bred on the Pierro x Danehill cross that has delivered 14 of his stakes-winners and all of his four Group I winners, she is true to type.

Rubick is one of the brightest up and coming sires in the land and Lot 134 will have plenty of admirers as a half-brother to juvenile Group III winner Nayeli and stakes-placed Brightest from stakes-placed Danehill mare Wasimah, a daughter of Group I winner Kapchat.

Wasimah has had five foals to race and all are winners and she is a full sister to stakes-winner Princesa, the dam of Group II winners Star of Giselle and Solicit.

The first yearlings this year by Golden Slipper winner Vancouver have sold exceptionally well with 70 youngsters averaging $190,142 across all sales.

Lot 171 is a half-brother to five winners headed by stakes-winner Theanswemyfriend from Blowininthewind (IRE). This is a top class European family featuring Group I winners Cerulean Sky and Moonstone.

Flying Artie was the Champion 3YO Colt of 2016/2017 and his first youngsters will be much in demand this year including Lot 223 a lovely filly from Exceed and Excel mare Exceed and Excite.

This is a family well known to Fairhill Farm as they foaled and raised Exceed and Excite's half-brother Choice Bro, who tasted Group I success winning the Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes in New Zealand at two.
