Three to follow from Flemington jumpouts August 18

Darryl Sherer - Sunday August 20

Two proven performers showed they should be worth following with strong jumpouts last Friday.

Savile Row is now with Mike Moroney and the son of Makfi had his first serious gallop in heat three. Three times runner-up at Group I level in New Zealand last season at three, Savile Row has matured into an imposing specimen and has plenty of improvement in him to come.

The Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Booker won on debut at Flemington and the daughter of Written Tycoon looked good when untested through the line in heat four.

Friday's jumpouts were on the inside grass, starting from the 800m with the markers out four metres.

Racenet has listed three horses it might pay punters to follow in coming weeks.

SAVILE ROW.

We don't make a habit of going to the obvious but this Group I performer looks to be coming to hand very nicely indeed for new trainer Mike Moroney. Travelled strongly on the bridle all the way in heat three, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Our Crown Mistress trying to be competitive on his outside in the straight. Damian Lane was a passenger as Savile Row did this all on his own to score in 49.09 seconds and untested. The son of Makfi is still open to a fair bit of physical improvement, this his first bit of serious work.

HOVE ACTUALLY

Unraced three-year-old colt by Redoute's Choice, trained by Lindsay Park Racing. This his second jumpout and he again travelled smoothly most of the way, finishing third to the Lee and Anthony Freedman-trained Battle Zone in heat 10, completed in 51.47 seconds. Settled in second under Mark Zahra as the Saab Hasan-trained Intrigo set the pace and not put under any pressure as Battle Zone and the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Vlanderskyer came through on his inside late, beaten one length. The time was nothing spectacular but the way Hove Actually is going about his work suggests he has his share of ability.

Career (Unraced)

BOOKER

The Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Booker went in heat four, shared by the Lindsay Park Racing-trained Caulfield winner Tycoon Dancer and the Mike Moroney-trained Bendigo Guineas winner Milwaukee in 49.85 seconds but confident she could have won had Damian Lane let her run. Settled back through the early stages and was always under a hold, going through the line in third, beaten 1 1/2-lengths with the James Cummings-trained Tarquin close up. Already a winner at Flemington, Booker certainly looks to have come back in good order
