Seven Figures Sales Keep Coming at Easter Day Two

Breednet - Wednesday April 10
The million dollar lots have kept coming at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale with four seven figure lots headlined by a new record price for an Exceed And Excel at $1,7 million.

Tyreel Stud offered lot 337, a colt by Exceed And Excel out of the Group Three winning mare Written Dash (by Written Tycoon) and he set a new record for his sire when Aquis Farm were the successful bidders at $1.7 milllion.

It beat the previous best price for his sire by some margin with his previous best being $1.2 million for three yearlings, including a filly out of More Than Real which sold at yesterday's session and remains the most expensive filly at this sale.

Earlier in the day, lot 313 became the first seven figure seller of the day when the Redooute's Choice x Top Cuban colt was offered by Arrowfield Stud and knocked down to Hermitage Thoroughbreds and Chris Waller for $1million.

It was only two lots later when another Redoute's Choice colt, this time out of Traceability became another million dollar buy for Orbis Bloodstock at $1.3million.

Traceability has two previous foals – the South African stakes winner Traces (Snitzel) and this season promising stakes placed two year-old Spring Loaded which is trained by Team Hawkes who will be the trainers for the yearling.

The fourth of the seven figure sellers was another from the Arrowfield Stud draft, a colt by Not A Single Doubt out of Zillow, an Encosta de Lago daughter of NZ Group One winner and Singapore Horse Of The Year Zirna, who went for $1,050,000 to the bid of Carmel Size.
