Suspension for Taylor Marshall at Seymour

Darryl Sherer - Sunday August 20

Taylor Marshall had an eventful ride aboard Steel Caps at Seymour on Saturday which resulted in a suspension.

Steel Caps ran in the fourth race, the Mitchelton Wines Maiden over 1600m and over raced in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward by Marshall.

Marshall lost his off side rein near the 200m before regaining it near the 100m where Steel Caps shifted out and caused Son Of Sunny to be checked to avoid heels.

Steel Caps finished third, beaten two lengths by Zhang Fei, with Son Of Sunny finishing eighth.

Marshall pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding and Stewards took into account the mitigating circumstances before suspending the apprentice for nine meetings, to commence at midnight on August 21 and expire at midnight on August 27.
