Media Release - Sunday April 7
The roster at Coolmore Australia will be strengthened in 2019 by the arrival of two Group I winning 2yo's that offer world-class bloodlines and impeccable conformation.

Saxon Warrior is one of the best sons of Japanese super-sire Deep Impact. He defeated multiple Group I winner Roaring Lion in the Racing Post Trophy-Gr.1 to remain unbeaten at two and displayed a devastating turn of foot to win the 2,000 Guineas-Gr.1 at Newmarket, again beating Roaring Lion as well as Epsom Derby winner Masar and Breeders' Cup Mile winner Expert Eye.

Saxon Warrior's dam Maybe was European Champion 2YO Filly of 2011 after going unbeaten in five starts at two from 1,200m to 1,400m including the Moyglare Stakes-Gr.1 and the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The US$3m Keeneland September Sale topping yearling Mendelssohn has an equally impressive race record and pedigree. "Saxon Warrior and Mendelssohn combine Group 1 winning excellence at two with remarkable performances at three," commented Paddy Oman, Coolmore Australia Sales & Nominations.

"They are both by exceptional sires, have stallions' pedigrees and will suit the Australian broodmare population. They're two very exciting prospects and offer Australian breeders the best of international form and bloodlines".
