The
Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale is renowned as being a sale where you
can find something unique and genuinely special and the lone Frankel filly in
the catalogue certainly fits that description.
Consigned by Esker Lodge Australia on behalf of her breeders Darren and Liz Dance,Lot 306 is a filly that would make appeal at any sale in the world and would
look just as much at home if she were offered at Tattersalls, Arqana or Goffs.
Born in the UK to Southern Hemisphere time, she is the first foal of Thai Noon
(IRE), who is now back in Australia and produced a colt by Frankel last spring.
A lightly raced winner from just four starts, Thai Noon is by
leading sire Dansili and is closely related to Dansili's Group I winning
daughter Miss France, winner of the Newmarket One Thousand Guineas in 2014.
Thai Noon has a pedigree steeped in Black Type as her first three dams are all
stakes-winners – Alsace Lorraine (Giant's Causeway), Mer de Corail (Sadler's
Wells) and Miss Tahiti, the Champion 2YO Filly of France in 1995.
Australian racegoers have seen a small sample of Frankel runners and it's hard not
to be impressed by the likes of Group II ATC Tea Rose Stakes winner Miss
Fabulass, ATC Australian Oaks contender Frankely Awesome and He's Eminent, who
was a close second to Avilius in the recent Group I ATC Ranvet Stakes.
Add in stakes horses like Merovee, Farooq and Finche, who was fourth in the
Melbourne Cup and you can see why Australian breeders continue to send mares to
Frankel each year.
With his oldest progeny just five year-olds, Frankel has built an impressive
record with 68.1% winners to runners and a dazzling 16.2% stakes-winners to
runners. His 37 stakes-winners worldwide include six Group I winners that have
saluted in the UK, France, Dubai and Japan ensuring the Frankel reputation has
been spread far and wide.
This filly from Thai Noon has a double cross of champion sir Danehill as does
his Australian Group II winner Miss Fabulass.
The Danehill double cross is achieving growing success in Australia and features
in current season Group I winning fillies Sunlight, Alizee, Amphitrite and
Verry Elleegant.
Unique and genuinely special - Lot 306 is stabled in Barn D Stable 73.
