Trained by Daniel and Ben Pearce and ridden by Jarrod Noske, Dig Deep improved off his last start fourth in the Listed WATC Perth Stakes to arrive with a well timed run and claim victory.
"You go to the sales to buy a horse and get a group of people together… this is what you dream about," said Daniel Pearce.
A $100,000 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale purchase from the Gold Front Thoroughbreds draft for Pearce Racing, Dig Deep has won two of three starts earning over $310,000 in prizemoney.
Bred by Alan and Sue Olive's Gold Front Thoroughbreds, Dig Deep is the first foal of Lucky Ana, a winning half-sister to Group III winner Estelle Collection, the dam of Australian Horse of the Year Lankan Rupee.
He is the second stakes-winner for Northern Meteor's brilliant sprinting son Deep Field joining Cosmic Force.
Deep Field was super popular at Newgate Farm last spring covering 246 mares.
