15th Stakes-Winner for Star Witness

Star Witness added a 15th stakes-winner to his tally in Adelaide on Saturday when progressive three year-old filly Cosmic Alert won the Listed SAJC Laelia Stakes at Morphettville.

Star WitnessNow with Will Clarken after being previously trained by Lloyd Kennewell, Cosmic Alert was fit and ready to fire at her third run back from a spell and raced handy to the pace before kicking clear to win the 1600 metre feature by a length.

Passed in as a yearling and retained to race, Cosmic Alert runs for Ultra Racing and has the overall record of three wins and three seconds from nine starts and over $100,000 in prizemoney.

She is the first winner for Cosmic Rock, a winning Rock of Gibraltar (IRE) daughter of stakes-winner Cosmic Strike.

Golden Grove have entered the current yearling from Cosmic Rock, a filly by Shamus Award, for the 2019 Inglis Melbourne Gold Yearling Sale as Lot 219.
