Unbeaten Jukebox Wins Vain Stakes

Tara Madgwick - Saturday August 19
Less than an hour after Snitzel colt Dracarys captured the Group III ATC Up and Coming Stakes at Randwick it was the turn of another rising star Snitzel colt in Jukebox to taste stakes success at Caulfield.

Last seen winning the $250,000 Inglis Premier back in February, the Ciaron Maher trained Jukebox (image Darryl Sherer) produced a powerful finish to reel in Sebring colt Plutocracy and win the Group III MRC Vain Stakes by half a neck.

It was a dominant return and Maher has high hopes for the colt who was a $200,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Blue Gum Farm draft.

"He had a good long break and has come back really well," said Maher, who will consider his options going forward with Jukebox.

"He's had a smooth campaign and it's lovely to see a three year-old colt resume like that. It's very exciting."

Jukebox as a yearlingJukebox has won three from three earning $240,900 and is entered for the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas.

Bred by Oakland Park Stud in WA, Jukebox is the best of four winners from stakes-winning Rory's Jester mare Jestatune, a half-sister to Group I WATC Kingston Town Classic winner Ihtsahymn.

Jestatune has a yearling filly by Not a Single Doubt, but was not covered last spring.
