Aloisia – the 2017 G1 Thousand Guineas winner - is the latest high-profile entrant headed to the Inglis Chairman's Sale.
Aloisia first gave demonstration of her exceptional ability when breaking her maiden as a juvenile at Flemington, beating none other than dual G1 winner Grunt, before running a narrow second in the G1 JJ Atkins Stakes with the likes of Pierata and Melody Belle in arrears.
It was however in the Spring of her 3YO season when she flourished to establish herself as a star of her generation.
She won a vintage renewal of the G1 Thousand Guineas at Caulfield, defeating top fillies such as Shoals, Alizee and Booker before routing a field of colts and geldings in the G2 Vase at Moonee Valley.
At the end of her 3YO campaign, her Timeform rating of 119 saw her rank as the joint-highest rated 3YO filly in Australasia.
Aloisia will be offered by Newgate Farm as a racing and breeding prospect at The Chairman's Sale, which will be held at Riverside Stables on the evening of Friday May 3.
She joins the likes of Srikandi, Norzita, Snitty Kitty and Now Now as headline entries in the sale.
Newgate's Bruce Slade said: "We're honoured that OTI has entrusted us to sell her at The Chairman's Sale.
"It's very rare that a Thousand Guineas winner comes onto the market so this is a magnificent opportunity.
"Thousand Guineas winners have made a huge contribution to the Australian breeding industry – just in recent times Mnemosyne is the dam of Impending and granddam of Lyre, Miss Finland produced her own Thousand Guineas winner in Stay With Me, Irish Lights produced Omei Sword, even Tie The Knot is out of a Thousand Guineas winner – and we believe Aloisia is headed down the same path.''
Inglis' NSW Bloodstock Manager Chris Russell had no doubt Aloisia would garner both domestic and international buyer interest.
"It is very rare for a filly of this quality to come on the open market and we are hugely appreciative to Terry Henderson and his partners at OTI for the opportunity to offer her at our Chairman's Sale,'' Russell said.
"We have already received tremendous support for the sale, but to add a mare of this quality is a great endorsement and, as is the case with many of our other offerings, she will command attention from investors both here in Australia and internationally.''
Entries for The Chairman's Sale close at 5pm TODAY, Friday March 8.
